Funan (2019) – animated film directed by Denis Do and written by Do and Magali Pouzol with the participation of Elise Trinh, about a Cambodian woman and her search for her child, who was forcibly taken from her, during the beginning of the Khmer Rouge revolution in April 1975. Tony Parker, the final shot (2021) Documentary – Directed by Florent Bodin – This film examines the background and career of Tony Parker, whose determination led him to become arguably the greatest French basketball player. Review
Underdogs (2018) – Documentary directed by new filmmaker Teo Frank. He was interested in extreme sports from a young age and started his film career by doing free-skiing videos when he was 15 years old. In this documentary, he travels the U.S. to create this documentary about underground hip-hop artists doing exceptional work outside the music industry. An interview with Teo Frank
We are one (2020) – Documentary by Stephane de Freitas – It gives voice to those who change the world through art and culture. Activists fight injustice and drive social change in this documentary that follows their participation in the music video “Solidarité.” Trailer
10 jours en or (2012) – kids compatible – Feel good movie written and directed by Nicolas Brossette. It tells the story of Marc Bajau (Franck Dubosc), a successful traveling sales rep whose life is centered on his work. Marc is also a confirmed bachelor and a bit of a Casanova. He is at the top of his game when suddenly things start to take a turn for the worse.
A mighty team (2016) – When a fit of anger leads to a serious injury, a sidelined soccer star returns to his hometown and reluctantly agrees to train the local youth. With Gérard Depardieu, Medi Sadoun, Barbara Cabrita.
Anelka Misunderstood (2020) – Bad boy of the French football, arrogant, precocious, misunderstood, scorer, unclassifiable, genius, unmanageable. Despite having a career of almost 20 years at the highest level, Nicolas Anelka is still hard to define.
Antoine Griezman; the mankind of a legend (2019) – Documentary – With heart and determination, Antoine Griezmann overcame his small stature to become one of the world’s top soccer players and a World Cup champion.

Blind Date (2015) by Clovis Cornillac – French romantic comedy directed by and starring Clovis Cornillac. The film also stars Mélanie Bernier, Lilou Fogli, and Philippe Duquesne. Budapest (2018) – Vincent and Arnaud are two friends who once studied in the largest French business school. But today, they are very bored in their work: Vincent works for a multinational where he has no recognition while Arnaud vegetates in the company of his wife’s father, Audrey. During a bachelor party with a friend, they meet a stripper. The latter tells them about the city of Budapest in Hungary. Arnaud then had the idea of creating a company that would organize bachelor parties in this city filled with excessive nightclubs where alcohol flows freely! With Manu Payet.
Burn out (2017) – Tony Rodrigues is a motorcycle racer who has aspirations to enter the professional circuit. While not racing, he splits his time between working as a forklift operator during the daytime and taking care of his son Sofiane whenever his ex-wife Leyla attempts to find employment. Carbon (2017) by Olivier Marchal – On the verge of losing his business, an entrepreneur launches a carbon tax scam that thrusts him into a web of criminals, intrigue, and murder. Benoit Magimel, Laura Smet.
Close enemies (2018) – French Belgian drama – Imrane and Manuel, members of an Arabic crime family, celebrate their friend Nouri’s release from jail. Nouri’s contacts in jail lead them to a drug deal. Urged on by Imrane, Manuel sets up the deal. En route, they are ambushed in a drive-by that results in the deaths of Imrane and Nouri. Manuel escapes but becomes the primary suspect of both the criminal underworld and the police.
Cuties (2020) – Cuties debuts on September 9th on Netflix and has already won this year’s World Cinema Dramatic Directing Award at Sundance. Directed by Maïmouna Doucouré in her feature directorial debut. The film stars Fathia Youssouf, Médina El Aidi-Azouni, Esther Gohourou, Ilanah Cami-Goursolas, and Maïmouna Gueye.
Warning: Netflix had recently started promoting the film and used an image of middle school girls in minimal costumes. It caused significant outrage on social media, and a change.org petition was started asking Netflix to halt the film’s release. The petition reported the movie as disgraceful, creating a negative impact on young minds and “sexualizing young girls for viewing pleasure of pedophiles.
Dany Boon des Hauts de France (2018) – Dany Boon directed and starred in the smash-hit comedy film “Welcome to the Sticks,” about the region where he grew up.
Divines (2016) – drama film directed by Houda Benyamina. In a housing estate on the outskirts of Paris, a teenager who is hungry for her share of power and success becomes a runner for a drug dealer. When she meets a male dancer, a window of opportunity offers a different kind of life. It was screened in the Directors’ Fortnight section at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival. At Cannes, Houda Benyamina won the Caméra d’Or. The film also was an official selection of the Toronto International Film Festival in the Discovery section.
DNA (2020) – Neige, divorced and mother of three, regularly visits Emir, her Algerian grandfather who now lives in a retirement home. She adores and admires this pillar of the family, who raised her and above all protected her from the toxicity of her parents. Relations between the many members of the family are complicated and resentments numerous … Fortunately Neige can count on the support and humor of François, her ex. The death of the grandfather will trigger a family storm and a deep identity crisis at Neige. From then on she will want to understand and know her DNA. The film was set to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2020, It had its world premiere at the Deauville Film Festival on 11 September 2020. With Maiween, Omar Marwan, and Fanny Ardant.
Earth and Blood (2020) – The film is around a violent showdown at an isolated sawmill that occurs when a young employee hides eight kilos of a gang’s stolen cocaine at the mill. When the heavily armed gang members come to recover their drugs, the sawmill owner stages a last stand to protect his teenage daughter. Directed by Julien Leclercq and starring Sami Bouajila, Eriq Ebouaney and Samy Seghir.
Fadily Camara / La plus drôle de tes copines (2019) – Irrepressible French comedian Fadily Camara weaves jokes, vivid characters, and physical comedy into a lively stand-up show at La Cigale in Paris.
Fary is the new black (2018) – Armed with sly wit, a fresh outlook, and plenty of styles, French comedy star Fary veer from dating to stereotypes and beyond in this exclusive special.
Gad Gone Wild (2017) – Gad Elmaleh’s latest One Man show is mainly performed in French In Gad Gone Wild, Gad uses personal experiences as a Frenchie in the US to highlight cultural differences with his very singular humor between both countries.
Gad Elmaleh American Dream (2018) – Filmed at The Town Hall in New York City, Gad throws his audience into hysterics as he recalls his experiences moving from Paris to New York, struggling to flirt with women in New York clubs, and how he wants to visit the Paris that Americans always talk about, but doesn’t really exist. “Gad Elmaleh: American Dream” marks the comedian’s first full English-language stand-up special.

M.I.L.F (2018) – Directed by Axelle Laffont, who also plays Elise, it follows a trio of forty-something women who begin dating younger men while on vacation. The trio, Sonia, Cécile, and Elise, are friends who go to the Côte d’Azur in the south of France to help Cécile prepare her vacation home to be sold. They meet 3 younger men in their twenties — Julien, Paul, and Markus, a former family friend of Cécile, who work at a local sailing club who show immediate interest in the women who are deemed “MILFs”. The 6 of them spend a lot of time together as a summer fling and the movie ends on their last day on vacation.

However when she gets to know the students especially Yanis (Liam Pierron) who is quite sharp and intelligent but disillusioned by a world that seems to have turned its back on him and his family. Street Flow (2019) – drama – Directed by Leïla Sy and Kery James and written by Kery James. The plot revolves around fifteen-year-old Noumouké from the suburb of Paris who is about to decide which brother’s footsteps to follow – the lawyer student Soulaymaan or the gangster Demba.
The African doctor (2016) – a drama-comedy – Seyolo Zantoko, a recent medical graduate of Congolese descent in France, struggles to integrate into a rural village but winds up one of the most respected doctors in the region.
The Artist (2011) – Written, directed, and co-edited by Michel Hazanavicius, the film stars Jean Dujardin and Bérénice Bejo. The story takes place in Hollywood, between 1927 and 1932, and focuses on the relationship between a rising young actress and an older silent film star as silent cinema falls out of fashion and is replaced by the “talkies”.
The Artist received widespread critical acclaim and won many accolades. Dujardin won Best Actor at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival, where the film premiered. The film was nominated for six Golden Globes, the most of any 2011 film, and won three: Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Original Score, and Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for Dujardin. In January 2012, the film was nominated for twelve BAFTAs, the most of any film from 2011, and won seven, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor for Dujardin, and Best Original Screenplay for Hazanavicius.
The Crew (2016) – A successful team of armored truck robbers (Sami Bouajila, Guillaume Gouix, Youssef Hajdi, David Saracino) gets pressured into helping with a large-scale robbery by drug dealers who refuse to take “no” for an answer.
The climb (2019) – comedy directed by Michael Angelo Covino. Kyle and Mike are best friends who share a close bond — until Mike sleeps with Kyle’s fiancée. The Climb is about a tumultuous but enduring relationship between two men across many years of laughter, heartbreak and rage. It is also the story of real-life best friends who turn their profound connection into a rich, humane and frequently uproarious film about the boundaries (or lack thereof) in all close friendships. It was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival.
The Misadventures of Hedi and Cokeman / En passant Pecho (2021) – Recommended for an adult audience – An irreverent comedy by Julien Royal. The two worst dealers in Paris finally have the opportunity to open their own businesses. Convinced that this means the end of the galley for them, they are still unaware that this is only the beginning of the problems … With Hedi Bouchenafa, Nassim Lyes, Fred Testot.
The most assassinated woman in the world (2018) – In the early 1930s, Paula Maxa is one of the leading actresses at the Grand Guignol Theatre in Paris. Maxa is self-defined as the “most assassinated woman in the world” has become famous for being violently murdered on stage more than 10,000 times. The theater director at the Grand Guignol is known for his gruesome stories and realistic gory special effects that often leave audience members shocked and disgusted. Journalist “Jean” from Le Petit Journal is tasked with writing a critique of Maxa’s performances.
The price of success (2017) – A comedian’s relationship with his family deteriorates as he becomes more famous. Avec Mawenn et Tahar Rahim
The Intouchables (2011) – Comedy – If you have liked Omar Sy in LUPIN, you will love him in The Intouchables”!

The wolf call – (2019) – The film is about a submarine’s sonar officer Chanteraide (François Civil), who must use his brilliant sense of hearing to track down a French ballistic missile submarine and end the threat of nuclear war.

Under the Bombs – (2007) – Lebanese movie in Arabic and French language – Although she grew up in Lebanon, wealthy Lebanese Muslim Zeina Nasrueddi (Nada Abu Farhat) has been living in Dubai with her architect husband and son, Karim. Marital difficulties led her to send her son to spend the summer with her sister Maha in Lebanon. When the 2006 Lebanon War began she traveled to Beirut via Turkey. In order to find her son, she hires Lebanese Christian taxi driver Tony (Georges Khabbaz) to drive her to Southern Lebanon. In their search for Maha and Karim, they encounter the devastation wrought by the war and learn each other’s personal secrets, including the fact that Tony’s brother was a member of the South Lebanon Army and is now living in exile in Israel.

We Are Family (2016) – The family of thirteen-year-old Bastien is anything but conventional. With several marriages and divorces of both parents, Bastien found himself caught in the middle of “a number of parents” and many other half-siblings. This means many bedrooms where he and other kids spend a few nights before packing up and moving to another parent’s home. But Bastien has had enough of the arrangement. Eventually, he comes up with an innovative idea where the kids will live together in one place and it will now be the adults who are doing the weekly rotations.
