Go out, get some fresh air, meet new people and make new friends in a bilingual environment.. It’s all possible this summer! Here are some of the ways you can help your child have fun in French this summer.


San Francisco

Alliance Française in San Francisco will once again offer week-long summer camps from July 8 to August 16, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for children aged 4 years and 9 months to 12 years. Mornings are devoted to academic activities, with math and English revision to combat summer learning loss and reinforce skills for the following school year. During the French course, our campers will learn French through writing, speaking, listening and educational games.
After lunch, afternoons are a time for more fun but rewarding activities to relax and have fun with new friends! Afternoon activities include: sports, science experiments, construction challenges, arts and crafts, games, scavenger hunts and theater.
$525 per week, 9am to 4:30 pm San Francisco

Lycée Français de San Francisco offers every year summer camps on its Sausalito campus from late June to mid-August for its students, as well as for children not enrolled at LFSF this year. Camps are an opportunity to experience bilingualism as activities are conducted in French and in English. Each week features a fun theme such as Olympic Games, Music of the World, Super Heros.. Petits pas, dance and yoga school, offers bilingual English/French summer camps from June 10 to July 19 in San Francisco for children aged 6 to 11.Depending on the dates chosen, the camp can last 3 days, 5 days or 2 weeks. The program includes arts, dance, yoga, theater, acrobatics, crafts and French! The camps take place in a magnificent setting! Large indoor and outdoor spaces (including a stage and art studio) and a patio with lawn surrounded by typical mission-style architecture.Camp hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Extended daycare is available from 3pm to 5pm.
$675 per week, 9 am to 3 pm San Francisco

Education Française Bay Area (EFBA) offers summer camps at two locations in San Francisco from 8:30 a.m. to 3 a.m. for children aged 4 to 12, from June 10 to August 2, with the option of an after-care program in French from 3-6pm. These camps welcome children at all levels of French, including beginners. The daily schedule includes games, songs, stories and free time. Each week features a new theme: totally spies to the rescue, a prehistoric cave in the Mediterranean, the mysterious treasure of the Caribbean, the legendary Stradivarius of the Val d’Aoste…
$552 per week, 8.30 a.m. to 3 p.m.


East Bay

summer camps 2022 EBEcole Bilingue de Berkeley is also organizing the return of its Summer Camp for the summer of 2024 from June 17 to August 9 from 9 am to 3 pm (extended childcare available at extra cost). These camps are open to the public for students from pre-school (over 3 years old) to grade 6.
Children are divided into different groups according to their age. The activities on offer correspond to their interests, desires and abilities. Each week, a new theme accompanies them on new adventures: the forest, the ocean, the world, cooking… Every day, the children take part in one or more French classes. The program encourages the development of speaking and listening skills… Classes are designed for beginners and intermediate French speakers. No prior knowledge of French is necessary. Classes are organized by age, not by language level.
$455 per week, 9am to 3pm Berkeley (early bird).

Au beau séjour offers its summer camp in July and August from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for children aged 2 to 6. Puppets, cooking, beach and seashells… every week, a new theme is chosen to delight the children. No need to pack a lunch !!!! At the start of the week, you’ll discover the menu planned by the center for lunches and snacks.

South Bay

A bilingual surf camp with Fabien at Half Moon Bay for children aged 7 and over. For those who want to enjoy the ocean and try their hand at surfing, come and spend a week with Fabien, from June to August, from 9am to 12pm (or 1pm, your choice).
$490 per week, 9am to 1pm Half Moon Bay

FASSV is opening its summer camp from preschool through seventh grade.
This summer camp is designed as a non-academic camp to offer your child an opportunity to learn and explore in a caring environment. The average child-adult ratio is 10:1. This year’s program and prices will be available at the end of March.

Au Petit Monde, in Palo Alto, offers an immersion camp with a flexible solution for children aged 2 to 6: a new theme every week; à la carte enrolment: 2, 3 or 5 days a week until 3:30 or 5 p.m., the choice is yours. Seven weeks of fun with a choice of dinosaurs, the beach, sports, science…
This year’s program and prices will be available at a later date.
