Ibrahim Maalouf will be in San Francisco in June for a concert at the Great American Music Hall, as part of his Trumpets of Michel-Ange project.
A trumpeter, composer, and major figure on the contemporary jazz scene, the French-Lebanese artist has created an instantly recognizable sound at the crossroads of jazz, Middle Eastern music, pop, and sweeping instrumental flights. On stage, Ibrahim Maalouf turns the trumpet into a voice, a story, a celebration.
With Trumpets of Michel-Ange, he continues a deeply personal musical journey, notably inspired by the quarter-tone trumpet invented by his father, Nassim Maalouf. The album, released in 2024, brings together several major guests, including -M-, Golshifteh Farahani, Toumani Diabaté, Sidiki Diabaté, Endea Owens, and Trombone Shorty.
Between virtuosity, collective energy, and Mediterranean emotion, this concert promises a rare evening for lovers of jazz, live music, and great sonic journeys.
