Nouvelle Vague, the post-punk covers project with a bossa nova twist, founded by Marc Collin and the late Olivier Libaux in 2003, has become an international musical phenomenon over the past two decades. Originally conceived as a one-off tribute, Nouvelle Vague’s debut album achieved unexpected global success. The group’s fusion of melancholic post-punk with bossa nova, combined with their bold French approach to reinterpretation, sets them apart.

The new album, inspired by singer Alonya’s performance of **”Should I Stay Or Should I Go“** by The Clash, continues Nouvelle Vague’s tradition of reinventing classics. Once again, it showcases the impact of Nouvelle Vague’s musical legacy and its timelessness.

The group’s first two albums, *Nouvelle Vague* (2004) and *Bande A Part* (2006), defined their unique sound with bossa nova renditions of New Wave classics. Their third album, *NV3* (2009), featured collaborations with Martin Gore of Depeche Mode, Ian McCulloch of Echo and the Bunnymen, Terry Hall of The Specials, Barry Adamson, The Saints, and Minimal Compact. Their fourth album, *I Could Be Happy*, was released in 2016.

This unconventional “cover band,” which has released five albums since 2004, has also unveiled new and brilliant talents such as Camille, Phoebe Killdeer, Nadeah, Mélanie Pain, and Liset Alea.
