Back for its second edition, the French American Cultural Days (FACD) returns to The Lycée Français de San Francisco on Saturday, March 14 for a full day celebrating Francophone creativity, artistic dialogue, and cultural exchange. The event is hosted by Culture Without Borders in honor of International Francophonie Month.
After welcoming more than 800 attendees at its inaugural 2025 edition, FACD has quickly grown into one of the Bay Area’s most vibrant cultural gatherings — a dynamic meeting point for artists, thinkers, families, and communities of all ages. Through performances, exhibitions, workshops, and immersive experiences, the festival invites the public to experience art not only as something to see, but as something to live together.
This year’s program blends visual arts, dance, music, fashion, photography, and immersive experiences throughout the day:
- Acclaimed illustrator Yann Legendre will bring his striking and bold visual universe to life.
- Visitors will discover the paintings of Marie Détrée, Official Painter of the French Navy, whose work captures the poetry and power of maritime life.
- The photography exhibition “De l’Ombre à la Lumière”, created in collaboration with photographer Fred Aubé, will offer a moving visual journey from shadow to light.
- Artistic moments by the San Francisco Ballet and the San Francisco Girls Chorus, celebrating harmony, movement, and emotion.
- A high-energy Krump dance session led by Alan Ark with Baybvck, bringing raw rhythm and urban expression to the stage.
- A runway fashion show presented by students from the Academy of Art University of San Francisco, showcasing the next generation of creative talent.
The day will conclude with the world premiere of Stay Trippy Little Hippy, performed by American actress Stacey Legendre, along with additional artistic surprises.
