Picture this: warm weather, lively streets, and music everywhere. From jazz to rock, flamenco to electronic, musicians of all kinds take to the sidewalks to perform—no stage needed. It’s a free, spontaneous celebration where everyone, performers and listeners alike, comes together for the love of music.
Welcome to the Fête de la Musique, a global celebration of music in all its forms that began in Paris in 1982 and now brings people together through music in over 120 countries.
On June 20, join the Alliance Française San Francisco for its annual Fête de la Musique (aka Make Music Day)—a sparkling kickoff to summer filled with live performances, delicious bites, and good vibes all night long!
Experience an evening of color, flavor… and glitter with this year’s theme: Cannes en Musique. Yes, Alliance Française San Francisco is rolling out the red carpet for a night of rhythm and chic. Think rhinestones, cocktails, and French Riviera vibes—get ready to glam up and groove all night long!
A true musical marathon awaits you from 6 p.m. to midnight, with the participation of 7 talented musical groups playing on 2 separate stages. Fans of more daring sounds will be delighted by Amara Kills, who fuse metal and rock for a raw, electrifying experience. Finally, The Mina Project will seduce you with their refined blend of jazz, blues, swing, R&B, soul and a touch of unexpected Italian classics.
A Francophone buffet will offer gourmet specialties inspired by the flavors of the French-speaking world, with the support of Galaxie Desserts, Bissap Baobab, Fabrique Délices, Petit Pot, 1.2.3 Chocolat, Boho Café, Costco and Trader Joe’s.
