For those who didn’t get the chance to attend Air’s sold-out concert last October in San Francisco, here’s a new opportunity. And for those lucky enough to be there, this is your chance to relive an extraordinary sensory experience… the show was simply breathtaking — especially thanks to their hypnotic staging, performed inside a glowing rectangular box, like a spaceship suspended in space.
The iconic French electro duo returns to captivate the city with an exceptional concert at the Masonic Auditorium, as part of their anniversary Moon Safari Tour. This tour pays tribute to their cult debut album, Moon Safari.
An anniversary tour for a legendary album
Released in 1998, Moon Safari propelled Air to the forefront of the French Touch movement. The album, blending electronic sounds, dreamy melodies, and retro-futuristic influences, marked a generation and won over a global audience. Air will perform the entire album live, offering concertgoers full immersion into their dreamlike and sophisticated universe. Iconic tracks such as Sexy Boy, All I Need, and La Femme d’Argent will echo through the Masonic Auditorium for what promises to be an unforgettable night.
Air: a musical odyssey spanning more than 25 years
Formed in Versailles in 1995, Air consists of Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel. Contrary to popular belief, the band’s name does not stand for “Amour, Imagination, Rêve”. Instead, it reflects the sonic quality they aimed for — light, ethereal, “airy” music, inspired by the French word aérien. Their partnership blends two backgrounds: scientific rigor (Dunckel, a former maths. & physics teacher and analog synth enthusiast) and architectural structure (Godin, an architecture graduate and bassist). Together, they crafted a unique sound at the crossroads of electronic music, psychedelia, and retro-futurist pop
Their first international success, Moon Safari, became a global reference and helped define the French Touch, alongside Daft Punk and Cassius. In 2000, their collaboration with Sofia Coppola on the soundtrack for The Virgin Suicides cemented their reputation among film lovers.
They went on to release albums such as 10 000 Hz Legend, Talkie Walkie, and Pocket Symphony, all praised for their rich soundscapes and inventive arrangements.
Why you shouldn’t miss their return to San Francisco

For electronic music lovers and ‘90s nostalgia fans alike, it’s an unmissable event.
