In honor of its 35th anniversary, the Recology Artist in Residence (AIR) Program teams up with Minnesota Street Project to present Art/Education/Community – 35 Years at Recology AIR.

The Recology Artist in Residence (AIR) Program, known for transforming trash into powerful works of art, is marking this milestone with a special exhibition showcasing recent work by AIR alumni, student artists, and creatives from the nonprofit Creativity Explored. Expect a diverse and thought-provoking collection of sculpture, painting, video, installation, and more—all made using reclaimed materials from Recology’s transfer station.

Works will be displayed across the Atrium, Gallery 107, and beyond and a curated selection of short films from past AIR artists will screen in the Media Room throughout the run of the show.
Don’t miss a live performance by multimedia artist Jeremy Rourke during the closing reception.

Since 1990, Recology AIR has supported over 190 artists and 60 students in exploring the intersection of art, sustainability, and community. This anniversary is more than a celebration—it’s a chance to reflect on the role of creativity in building a more conscious and sustainable future.

Gallery Hours: Tuesday–Saturday, 11AM–6PM
