The Oracle San Francisco Sail Grand Prix is scheduled for March 22-23, marking SailGP’s return to the Bay Area. And with just one week’s turnaround from LA, expect the fifth event of the 2025 Season to be full of excitement.

Set against the backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco is one of the most iconic SailGP venues and the perfect place to watch the 12 teamsbattle to establish early dominance in the 2025 Season.

SailGP is an annual global sailing championship that features national teams competing in high-speed, cutting-edge F50 catamarans. Established in 2018, the league aims to redefine sailing by combining advanced technology with thrilling races held in iconic waterfront cities worldwide. Each season consists of multiple Grand Prix events, where teams accumulate points leading up to a final showdown for the championship title.

The France SailGP Team, one of the league’s original competitors, is led by driver Quentin Delapierre. The team has shown consistent performance and is known for its innovative approach to racing. One of the six original SailGP Teams, France is spearheaded by driver Quentin Delapierre who assembled a stellar crew line-up when he took over as driver in Season 2. The France SailGP Team, known as Les Bleus, is known for executing stellar starts and performing in wild and windy conditions. The team holds the SailGP racing speed record of 99.94 km/h in Saint Tropez, Season 4. The team races for France, honouring her proud racing past, and shaping the future through “le bien-vivre” and practical problem-solving.

In a recent development, French football star Kylian Mbappé has invested in the team through his company, Coalition Capital. This move marks his first step into the world of competitive sailing, bringing his influence and commitment to innovation to the sport. Alongside his investment, Mbappé’s charity, “Inspired by KM” (IBKM), has become the official charity partner of the team, aiming to inspire and support young people worldwide. His involvement is expected to boost the team’s visibility and attract new audiences to SailGP.
