Co-presented by Ecole Bilingue de Berkeley, the renowned Champs-Elysées Film Festival will return to Berkeley on its U.S. tour this Fall with two nights of award-winning screenings of short, medium and feature-length films and documentaries at the EB Lower School Campus and neighboring Meyer Sound’s Pearson Theater.
Launched in the Bay Area by the Théâtre du Lycée Français, the Champs-Elysées Film Festival – which takes place every June in Paris – is returning to
the Bay Area this November with two consecutive evenings of French and American independent cinema:
Thursday, November 7: movie lovers and Francophiles of the Bay Area are invited to view a collection of 6 short and medium length films at the EB Lower School Multipurpose Room. The event is free and open to adults 18+ (in French, and additional languages, with English subtitles)
Friday, November 8: a celebratory wine and cheese reception will be followed by the screenings of the short film Beurk and Florent Gouëlou’s feature-length documentary, Habibi.
Founded in 2012 by producer, distributor and exhibitor Sophie Dulac, the Champs-Élysées Film Festival is the must-attend event for discovering the best of French and American independent cinema. The festival aims to be a bridge between French and American cinematographies, as well as a platform for encounters between young filmmakers and musicians. Every year in June, the festival takes place in all the cinemas along the world’s most beautiful avenue, with a selection of French and American films in competition, previews, guests of honor and a special musical program.
