Barely released in France (Sept 11, 2024), An Ordinary Case (Le Fil in French), directed by Daniel Auteuil, will be presented by French Premiere on October 2 and 3, 2024, in the San Francisco Bay Area. This psychological thriller features Daniel Auteuil as Jean Monier, a disillusioned lawyer who has given up criminal cases after exonerating a repeat offender. His encounter with Nicolas Milik (Grégory Gadebois), accused of murdering his wife, pushes him to resume his fight for justice, despite his doubts. Convinced of Milik’s innocence, Monier embarks on a complex quest for truth.

Auteuil explores human fragility and the subjectivity of truth, inspired by the writings of lawyer Jean-Yves Moyart (alias Maître Mô). The film is set in Camargue, a region dear to the director. An Ordinary Case  is an introspective drama about the ethical and personal dilemmas of a lawyer facing an ordinary crime, with palpable tension and moments of deep humanity.
