As the largest nonprofit organization dedicated to jazz and the first free-standing building in America built for jazz performance and education, SFJAZZ  serves as a dynamic hub for community engagement, celebrating jazz in all its diverse forms. From intimate quartet performances to grand orchestral showcases, the program curated by SFJAZZ covers the full spectrum of jazz, from traditional jazz to more contemporary expressions. The lineup not only features renowned artists but also introduces emerging talents.

SFJAZZ is a jazz destination for both the seasoned jazz aficionado and the newcomers to the genre and promises an immersive journey through the essence and ever-evolving world of jazz.

Mark your calendar as the venue regularly hosts artists from the Francophone world and will feature this Spring the acclaimed Malian singer, songwriter, and actress Fatoumata Diawara.


If you are looking for a classic jazz supper club, look no further than Black Cat Club. Dating back to 1906 and reopened in 2016,  the swanky jazz lounge, cocktail bar and New American cuisine bistro features world-class jazz performances nightly, in an intimate, dimly lit underground jazz club environment. The classy jazz bar features handcrafted cocktails and an impressive international wine list while the kitchen serves a refined modern American supper club menu.

Don’t let the area deter you from discovering this legendary jazz club. Black Cat is a real gem. True to its roots, the space combines grit with glam in the city’s historic Tenderloin arts and entertainment district.


Opened in late 2022 in North Beach, once known for its jazz scene, the nightclub presents music and dinner four nights a week in an intimate and friendly atmosphere. Created to celebrate community around the artform and culture of jazz music, the club supports artists at all stages of their pursuit. The club also provides something rare: a dedicated space away from the bar designed for the listening and full enjoyment of the music.


The lively Jazz Club features craft cocktails, dim sum, and live music from local players, in a retro-inspired setting with a blues-club vibe and underground ambiance. The venue offers live music Wednesday through Saturday.


Located in the Financial District’s historic Monadnock Building, Dawn Club is one of the newest additions to San Francisco’s jazz scene, hosting live jazz six nights a week in an elegant atmosphere. It is advised to make reservations in advance, but the bar is also open to walk-ins.

Other exceptional venues for Jazz in the Bay include the legendary Yoshi’s in Oakland, the Sound Room, and Blue Note in Napa.
