Sandra (Sandra Hüller), Samuel, and their 11-year-old visually impaired son, Daniel (Milo Machado Graner), have been living far from civilization in the Alps for a year. One day, Samuel is found dead at the foot of their chalet. An investigation into his suspicious death is opened. Sandra is quickly accused, though doubts linger as to whether it was a suicide or homicide. A year later, Daniel witnesses his mother’s trial, a real dissection of his parents’ relationship. Swan Arlaud, playing the role of Sandra’s lawyer, delivers an excellent performance as always.
