The Great Animal Orchestra commissioned to Bernie Krause by Fondation Cartier in Paris is presented at the Exploratorium in San Francisco!
The Great Animal Orchestra is inspired by the work of American musician and bioacoustician, Bernie Krause. The exhibition brings together the work of United Visual Artist and Bernie Krause and invites the public to enjoy an aesthetic meditation, both audio and visual, on the animal kingdom, which is increasingly under threat in today’s modern world.
The Great Animal Orchestra is a book and multimedia project by Bernie Krause, a musician and bioacoustician. The project explores the sounds of the natural world, particularly those created by animals, and how they relate to the health and balance of ecosystems. In the book, Krause shares his experiences recording and collecting animal sounds from around the world and highlights the complex relationships between different species and their environments.
The multimedia project includes recordings, visualizations, and live performances that aim to inspire a greater appreciation and understanding of the natural world and our place within it.
The Great Animal Orchestra has received critical acclaim for its unique blend of science, art, and environmental advocacy
