The Roxie Theater is paying a tribute to Jean-Luc Godard from October 7 to November 14 with 4 movies. An ongoing series of some of his greatest films, beginning with four of his first assaults on traditional cinema.
You can choose to see each movie individually for $14 or get a pass to see all four for $44.

Claude Brasseur and Sami Frey (“Belmondo’s suburban cousins” – JLG) and mutual girlfriends Anna Karina, horse around with the idea of burglarizing the villa where she’s staying, but things go memorably awry. Masculin Féminin – November 2 & 6
With Masculin féminin, ruthless stylist and iconoclast Jean-Luc Godard introduces the world to “the children of Marx and Coca-Cola”, through a gang of restless youths engaged in hopeless love affairs with music, revolution, and each other. French new wave icon Jean-Pierre Leaud stars as Paul, an idealistic would-be intellectual struggling to forge a relationship with the adorable pop star Madeleine (real-life ye-ye girl Chantal Goya). Through their tempestuous affair, Godard fashions a candid and wildly funny free-form examination of youth culture in throbbing 1960s Paris, mixing satire and tragedy as only Godard can.

Alphaville, November 12 & 14
Lemmy Caution (Eddie Constantine) is on a mission to eliminate Professor Von Braun, the creator of a malevolent computer that rules the city of Alphaville. Befriended by the scientist’s beautiful daughter Natasha (Anna Karina), Lemmy must unravel the mysteries of the strictly logical Alpha 60 and teach Natasha the meaning of the word “love.”
