The 5-day Flower Piano Festival is one of the most anticipated musical events in the Bay Area, and conversely to its name, it’s not only piano recitals.
The Botanical Garden will offer new opportunities for the public to enjoy Debussy, Saint Saens, Poulenc and more… and to swing on jazz, dance on salsa, and groove on hip hop music. There will be something for all tastes and for all ages during those 5 days.
Participants are invited to explore the Garden’s global living plant collections as they seek out the 12 pianos spread out across the 55-acre living museum. At each of the pianos, there will be scheduled professional performances, open play time for participants, and community partner performances – reflecting a range of genres, ages, and cultures. The experience brings joy, hope, awe, and a deep sense of community.
Flower Piano is free for San Francisco residents, school groups and with general admission to the Botanical Garden
