The Dolby Chadwick gallery presents Seuils, the new body of work by French artist Edwige Fouvry.
Edwige Fouvry was born in Nantes, France, in 1970, and lives and works in Brussels, Belgium. She obtained her master’s degree at the National School of Visual Arts in La Cambre, Brussels. This will be her sixth solo exhibition at the Dolby Chadwick Gallery.
Seuils (it means Thresholds) presents abstract landscapes inspired by the area of Beaujolais, her native region where she had to return following a major personal change; it also features portraits, which allows her to come to circle back to her interest in psychology. These faces appear calm and contemplative at first glance, but the undulating lines and color relationships suggest something deeper.
