As of March 14, 2022, two significant changes concerning the health rules in force:
1 – Entry into metropolitan France from the United States is not subject to any restrictions because the United States is now considered a country in a “green” zone.
- No compelling reason is required for travelers to France, vaccinated or not
- The required travel documents depend on your vaccination status (all the details are on the French Consulate, see link below).
2 – The application of the “pass vaccinal” is suspended in metropolitan France in all places where it was required (museums, restaurants, fairs, and trade shows, etc.).
However, the “pass vaccinal” remains in force in hospitals, retirement homes, establishments welcoming people with disabilities.
The “pass vaccinal” remains in force in certain overseas territories.
For more details, please consult the website of the Consulate of France in San Francisco.
In all cases, the new rules that apply to metropolitan France do not necessarily apply in the overseas territories.
