(updated on July 21, 2021) – You received a CDC vaccination card after you got your shots against Covid19 in the US, but you want to be able to transform it in France into a digital Health Pass (Pass Sanitaire) with a QR code. You will need it to freely enjoy restaurants, museums, and more following French government rules published on July 15th, 2021.
It is possible to obtain this Pass Sanitaire and without waiting; we did it on July 17, 2021, in a Parisian pharmacy.
This is what we recommend: bring your Carte Vitale or simply your French Social Security number even if it’s dormant for several years, your vaccination card provided by the CDC which includes your name, date of birth, and the name of the vaccine you received. Go to a pharmacist or any other health professional who has a computerized link with the French health insurance website. Ask nicely because such a service is not required by the health professionals, and they will be able to get your US vaccines into the French system.
Essential tip: When the healthcare professional asks for your zip code, tell them to enter “99” and then “United States” from the list of countries. Tell your interlocutor to enter your vaccines reference in the field “Autres lots” that is at the very end of the menu. In less than 5 minutes, he will be able to print a sheet with the famous QR Code.
If you have children over 12 who have previously been registered under your French social security number, the healthcare professional who handled your CDC vaccination card in France can do the same for your vaccinated children. You can then save their QR code on your TousAntiCovid app and/or on their own smartphone if they have one.
Equipped with this precious sesame, download the TousAntiCovid app created by the French government, and follow the instructions until it prompts you to scan the certificates … Approach the printed vaccination certificate with your QR code, and voila.
