Sponsored content – The San Francisco of Armistead Maupin by Alexis Orand, Virginie Goubier.
This month, we invite you to discover the San Francisco of the last 40 years with Armistead Maupin the author of the famous saga, the Tales of the City.
“The first time I saw San Francisco, I was in the Navy on my way to Vietnam. The city just enchanted me. I loved to walk around and explore each of its corners. Each time you climb a hill wherever you turn around, the view is different. I think everything about this landscape made me want to tell stories. ”
At 72, Armistead Maupin is a famous writer all over the world, but in San Francisco, the author of the illustrious Tales is an icon. What started as a daily serial published in the San Francisco Chronicle in 1976, has been transformed into a saga of nine novels portraying the city and its people for almost 40 years.
In this time of Shelter-in-Place, this is an opportunity to read or rediscover the Tales of the City or see the series made in 2019 available on Netflix.
