After announcing the opening of its new store on April 12th, 2019 in Emeryville, Decathlon scores high by launching a generous initiative with schools in the East Bay.
To celebrate the event, the French retailer has decided to donate more than 10,000 footballs, basketballs, volleyballs, tennis balls, and golf balls between now and April 15th, 2019.
The program called “Have a Ball ” is aimed at schools and institutions working with children who are often poorly-equipped to practice a sporting activity.
In parallel and in order to strengthen their integration into the local community, Decathlon has chosen to work with the non-profit association Fam 1st Family Foundation based in Oakland, and sponsored by American football stars (NFL) Josh Johnson (Washington) and Marshawn Lynch (Oakland).
Using sports as a catalyst, Fam 1st Foundation offers classes in architecture, business, coding, graphic design, music, robotics and other areas of focus to promote self-esteem and develop applicable life skills. The sport is the favorite activity to federate all these young people from 5 to 18 years.
Having a ball is something precious for a child; and if anyone knows it for 40 years, it’s Decathlon.
It’s a great way to celebrate the opening of their new store scheduled for April 12, 2019.
If you want to discover or rediscover Decathlon product ranges for kids and adults… the experience will be waiting for you.
